Arno Schwalie holds a degree in international economics, a postgraduate diploma in real estate economics, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). In addition, he completed a programme in Hotel Real Estate Investment and Asset Management at Cornell University in the USA. Arno Schwalie has extensive experience in the areas of hospitality and services, real estate portfolio management and company integration.
Prior to his move to Korian, as the Managing Director and Area Vice President for Central and Southern Europe in the Rezidor Hotel Group, he was responsible for over 8,000 employees and 90 hotels in 20 countries.
Before that, Arno Schwalie worked for Design Hotels AG, starting in 2006 as Director of Strategy & Development. He then moved on to being Vice President Business Development & Corporate Strategy, Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer, and finally Chief Operating Officer.
His responsibilities included the management of a global portfolio of almost 300 hotels in more than 56 countries, and the integration of Design Hotels AG into Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
Arno Schwalie has been the Chief Executive Officer Korian Germany and Curanum AG since 1st July 2017.
