Telemedicine enters our nursing homes !

Care homes

To deal with Covid-19, we accelerated the implementation of the teleconsultation solution with Omedys, a company specialising in telemedicine, giving priority to the nursing homes most affected by COVID.

Telemedicine, a remote medical practice using new technologies, guarantees access to care for all residents when they need it, and this, in support or relay of the treating doctors. This technological solution is also available to the attending doctors, allowing them to follow our residents remotely, by teleconsultation, if necessary.

Training sessions are organised by Korian Academy as part of the deployment of telemedicine in our nursing homes. They took place from 14 October to 24 November (by Teams) for the 50 establishments that will receive a telemedicine trolley by the end of the year.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE INTRODUCTION OF TELEMEDICINE

Telemedicine guarantees access to care, all residents have access to a doctor when they need it. It also makes it possible to avoid :
• calls not adapted to the 15
• unjustified transport to emergencies
• Aggravation by delay in care
• the disruptions in the management of chronic pathologies.

"We have been looking for a teleconsulting solution for a long time that goes beyond technology and is based on the needs of patients and carers. The very simple innovative model designed by Doctors Goudour and Devillard, combined with the strength of the Korian network, the first national network of health and medico-social establishments dedicated to the care of the elderly and the frail, will enable us to take a decisive step forward and contribute to making care accessible to all in the heart of the territories. We are very pleased with this partnership, based on a common vision and values. "Sophie Boissard, Chief Executive Officer of the Korian group.
